Support Network - The Benevolent Fund of The Institution of Mechanical Engineers

NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE IN POST...

Dear Beneficiaries, VisitorsAnni Broadhead, new Support Network CEO, Befrienders, Trustees, IMechE members and employees, external Benevolent Fund teams and other parties interested in our work,

I thought that it was about time that I introduced myself properly!

It has been two weeks since Bob's retirement and I think that I'm starting to find my feet at Support Network. What I know for certain, is that I am going to enjoy my role here. Thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome.

I join Support Network following 12 years of charity management within the Citizens Advice Bureaux network, most recently being the CEO at Hammersmith & Fulham CAB. Before moving to London in 2007, I was based in Somerset, developing bureaux in Sedgemoor and North Somerset.

In addition, I bring experience of being a barrister, and of working in further education and local government.

Throughout my career, I have always wanted to help people in need, and to be able to make a difference. Support Network was therefore an obvious choice for me, and I am grateful to the Trustees for giving me the opportunity to be part of continuing the success of the organisation.

Outside of work, I like to Circle Dance (a mix of traditional East European folk dance and ballet), and to take advantage of the many cultural delights that London has to offer. Whilst I miss my Quantock Hills and Wells cathedral, the view from our office over St James's Park and hearing Big Ben at my desk certainly takes some beating, and it's beginning to feel like home.

I very much look forward to working with you over the coming months and years, and please do feel free to get in touch.

Sincere regards,

Anni Broadhead

Chief Executive Officer
